Lesson are conducted and taught in accordance to MOE GCE MATHEMATICS SYLLABUS 4016.(All IP students will be taking MATHEMATICS based on the GCE 4016 syllabus irregardless of which secondary school they are in.)
Classes are suitable for IP students from all secondary schools offering IP.(HCI, RV, RI, RGS, NJC etc) For Course Content Outline, please request a copy for viewing from the registration counter.
** During each session, students will be reinforced on Complex Maths Concepts that has been taught in school and put into practice given during class tutorials. We understand most IP students tend to struggle due to the exceptionally accelerated
learning pace practised by their schools especially in Secondary 1 and 2, so we deliberately slow it down appropriately
so that students won't feel like rushing through the syllabus. By doing so, important Complex Maths Concepts can be reinforced and will definitely help them in building a solid foundation for future higher level learning.

Worried about being the first batch of students to take PSLE under the new Maths syllabus? (With calculator) You are not alone........
1.Changes to the syllabus and how it will affect your child.
2009 will be a significant year for students taking PSLE Mathematics Exam. For the first time in PSLE history, students will be permitted the use of calculator in Paper 2 of their PSLE Mathematics paper. Among many students and parents key concerns are:
· Will questions in the 2009 PSLE Maths Paper be tougher since calculator is allowed?
· Are authorised past year PSLE questions available in bookstores still relevant for my PSLE preparation?
· I am not confident whether what I learn and practice in school is sufficient for me to perform and score in the 2009 PSLE Maths paper. What should I do? How can I know my standard when comparing to other top primary schools students in Singapore?
2.What it means for both parents and students.
If you have any/all of the aforementioned or other concerns, you are not alone. At My Pinnacle, we have been anticipating and preparing for this change. CHANGE OF MATHS AND SCIENCE SYLLABUS FROM 2008!
In 2008, there will be significant changes in the syllabus of the Singapore Educational system for both Primary Mathematics and Science subjects. Are you and your children ready for such dramatic changes?
1. Changes to the syllabus and how it will affect your child.
Our previous experiences with changes in syllabus have shown that most students will encounter difficulties, go through a period of uncertainty and found it tough when undergoing through the process of the transitional period. In 2008, some of the major changes in the syllabus include the permissive use of calculator in Maths and introduction of new teaching curriculum in Science.
2. What it means for both parents and students.
At My Pinnacle, we understand that parents play a critical role in the development of their children. Likewise, many parents are very much involved in personal tutoring and guiding their children through their school work and exams. However, due to the constant changing of the educational syllabus, parents find it hard to cope. New problem solving concepts for Science and Maths means what most parents learnt in the past had became irrelevant in today’s educational climate. What’s becoming worse is that students are confused about the concept and methodologies given to them through various sources. The end result is an underperforming student with unsatisfactory results and low confidence in tackling futher problems.
3. What can be done to help my child?
Engaging tuition is a simple solution. However, many parents often complained home tutors are often found lacking in passion and desire to help their child to improve and most importantly, both home tutors and other private education centres are often slow in keeping up to date with the latest MOE syllabus. Here, at MY PINNACLE, you can be assured that your child are being taught and guided based on the latest MOE syllabus. Students are also encouraged to enquire, explore & experiment (3Es). By using hands-on approach such as conducting Science experiments and Maths Model approaches, students are able to gain in-depth knowledge and solutions to tough and challenging problems.
